After retiring from a career in graphic design, I moved to Portland, Oregon to be near family. It was here I stumbled across my second career when introduced to glass fusing. It was love at first firing! On occasion I do embrace the beauty in nature as a source of artistic inspiration. But for me, the great outdoors is more of a reason to hit the trails, comb the beaches or trot the globe. It's the beauty of glass itself along with the vast possibilities and technical challenges that provide a primal inspiration for me. I often find myself exploring pure abstraction, pattern or subtle symbolic cues. When each new piece emerges from the lava-like temperatures, I feel a stronger bond to my new craft. Fused.
